According to Facebook’s post, Facebook is free and it will stay that way for a while longer. It looks like the declaration came after a copyright hoax caused thousands of users to share a post declaring that each one of them owned everything on their page and Facebook could not use it.
Even though the post is not useful, the fact that so many users shared it may suggest that Facebook users are afraid that their personal data may be used without their consent.
